Jesus is Absolutely True

When Jesus had said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life” (Jn. 14:6), what do you think He was saying? He was making it known that He is absolute truth! And that is quite powerful when you think about it… You see, unlike relative truth which is subject to change at any time, absolute truth doesn’t change. Thus, it continues to stand as it is irrespective of time or space. In other words, its essence can't be anything other than what it is, which means, it can’t be changed. And the incredible thing that Jesus wants us to know is that He doesn’t change either, but is “the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8 NKJV) Wait a minute… If Jesus doesn’t change then that must mean He never could have changed, right? And if that is the case, then that must mean He is eternal. So how is it then that He was able to be born of a woman? That’s a good question. However, we need to keep in mind that when the Bible speaks of Jesus not changing it is referring to His character, not His physical being. For, Jesus could appear in any way that He so desires. He is not restricted by human nature as we are. And it is important for us to know this because it tells us that He will never love us any less than He did when He died on the cross for us. It tells us that just as He had said He would be with us always, He meant every word of it. It tells us that just as He had promised to usher us into the kingdom of God, He meant exactly what He said. It tells us that His promises are sure to come to pass, because He means what He says. And it tells us that no one can change the way He feels about us! The bottom line here is that Jesus wants us to know that we can trust Him. And I think that what Jesus did for us on the cross suffices to prove that it wouldn’t be a mistake for us to entrust our lives to His care, as He has regarded us so highly as to die for us “while we were still sinners…” (Rom. 5:8 NKJV) Do you know anyone who would give their life for you? Perhaps you do. But how many people do you know who would actually give their lives for someone who hates them, especially while they are being mocked and abused by them? That is what is so amazing about Jesus! He didn't just give His life for those who loved and followed Him; He gave His life for those who hated and persecuted Him. How could anyone reject so great a love for them? Obviously, it is because they don't know Him. And it is because they don't know Him that they can't see that there is no greater love than His. Hence, they really don't know what it means to love. In fact, I would even say that none of us really know what it means to love in the same way that Jesus loves us. Yet, we can learn to love like Him if we would but entrust our lives to Him without holding anything back... Will you trust Him? Maybe you already believe you do trust Him? If so, how much of your life have you really given? Have you really given Him those cares of yours? All of them? Are you holding on to something that you know you should have let go of a long time ago? Don’t just see Jesus as the One who died for you; see Him as the one whose love for you can never be changed! See Him as The Christ! And let Him show you how great His power really is… Indeed, if you would but trust Him in everything, you will soon discover that He will never withhold anything good from you! He will never let you down!
